讲座人信息：

马克林（Colin Mackerras）教授是澳大利亚格里菲斯大学荣休教授，澳大利亚人文科学院院士，1964年首次访华并在北外任教。马克林教授是中国历史、中澳关系和中国在西方形象的研究专家，撰写和编辑了40多本关于中国的著作，发表近200篇关于中国研究的学术论文，包括《变化中的中国》《我看中国：1949年以来中国在西方的形象》等。

讲座介绍：

The talk will survey the fifty years or so since diplomatic relations were established in December 1972. It will cover economic, educational and cultural relations, as well as geo-political. It will note the recent problems and probe some of their causes, including an extremely unfortunate tradition of Sinophobia in Australia, which was wrongly thought to have been eliminated, and the influence of the U.S. It will also speculate on the potential for improvements in various areas, such as in trade, but draw attention to the unfortunate influences deriving from the recent signature of the AUKUS agreement, including comments on that document from some well-known observers.
